Alex Hanna, Ph.D., serves as the Director of Research at The Distributed AI Research Institute (DAIR). A social scientist, her work focuses on new computational technologies, including artificial intelligence, data ethics, and labor. She is also the author of the book 'THE AI CON.'

Prior to her role at DAIR, Dr. Hanna held several positions at Google, including Senior Research Scientist for Ethical AI, Program Manager for ML Fairness, and Technical Curriculum Developer for Machine Learning.
