Alastair Humphreys is an English adventurer, author, and motivational speaker. He is widely recognized for pioneering the concept and coining the term "microadventure," which emphasizes short, local, and accessible adventures. In 2012, he was named a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year for his "Year of Microadventure." Humphreys holds degrees in Zoology and a PGCE in Zoology/Animal Biology, having studied at the University of Edinburgh and Oxford.
