Biography

Alan D. Schnitzer is an American executive who serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Travelers Companies, Inc., a major provider of property casualty insurance for auto, home, and business. He has been a member of the Travelers family for nearly 20 years, joining the company in 2007.

Schnitzer's career at Travelers began as vice chairman and chief legal officer, where he also served on the company's management committees.
