Alan Gamlen is a Professor at The Australian National University and an Australian Research Council Future Fellow. He is a social scientist with an interdisciplinary background, specializing in research on human migration, mobility, displacement, and ethno-political identity. His research combines quantitative and qualitative methods.

In addition to his academic roles, Gamlen advises international organizations, governments, city councils, and NGOs on migration-related issues.
