Alana Newhouse is an American writer and editor, best known as the founder and editor-in-chief of Tablet Magazine, which she established for Nextbook in 2009. Born in 1976, she grew up in Lawrence, New York, and is a graduate of the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway. She holds degrees from Barnard College (1997) and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism (2002).
