Anthony Wood is the founder, Chairman, and CEO of Roku, Inc., a company he established in 2002 to market home digital devices. Roku, meaning “six” in Japanese, represents Wood's sixth startup.
In 2007, he also served as the vice president of Netflix's "Internet TV," where he led a team responsible for developing a Netflix-streaming player and applications for PC streaming. This engineering team was later spun back out to Roku.
