Biography

Ajit Jain is an Indian-American executive, currently serving as the Vice Chairman of Insurance Operations for Berkshire Hathaway, a position he has held since January 10, 2018. He was also appointed to Berkshire's board of directors at the same time. Jain's long tenure with Berkshire Hathaway began in 1986 when he joined to work on insurance operations for Warren Buffett, despite initially having little knowledge of the insurance business.
