Ajeya Cotra is a researcher and writer specializing in AI safety and governance. She is currently involved in risk assessment for loss of control at METR.

Prior to her role at METR, Cotra spent a decade at Coefficient Giving. During her tenure, she held several positions, most recently as a senior advisor and program director in AI. Her work at Coefficient Giving included leading technical AI safety grantmaking. She also previously served as a Summer Research Analyst at Givewell.
