Biography

Ameenah Gurib-Fakim is recognized for her tenure as the 6th President of the Republic of Mauritius, a position she held from 2015 to 2018. Following her presidency, she has continued her public service as a Goodwill Ambassador to the ICESCO for the promotion of Girls in STEM since 2023. She also served as an Ambassador for the SIDS at the World Diplomatic Academy from 2022 to 2023.

Prior to her presidency, Gurib-Fakim built a distinguished academic career.
